Old Fashioned Web Innovations

Maglev Trains That Charge Today's Tracks

Current Maglev Trains are 1 to $7 million per mile. A new method has been devised to save more than a boatload of cash to a floppy. In this plan the existing rails are charged by a process like heat treating to heat and cool the rails to charge more permanently for both maglevs and usual trains at 100s or 1000s per mile not millions, with no more real estate to buy than railroads already use. Like other tracks using permanent magnets now being built the inventor says this about just magnetizing the rails would take no power to move the train because the magnets are permanent not electromagnets like earlier maglevs, except this has the added advantage of use of the rails themselves to hold the field, not by adding many permanent magnets which would cost more. And when you walk out on the tracks with your watch you wear or other metal, and if on a slope you may levitate on the RR to sail to other counties 75 miles away! (This is a problem about other permanent magnet levitation trains too and some think it may be solved by laying down a large wire instead of magnets with magnets inside the wire and electric shields on the top of the wire that would automatically open and then close the field when the train goes over with the electric opening and closing of the wire powered by some of the weight of the train, the wire would be cheaper and easy to lay than many permanent magnets, the field wouldn't lose so much power-and no one would sail away!)

Auto Clean Walls. Ha
ve you heard about the automobile body coat that flows and smooths so the auto is healed like a can of Neverleak in 20 hours? Some chemical engineers say a good paint for rooms could be auto clean, no more room to paint, landladys like a site manager would be in the luxury sweet!

COMPUTERIZED FIRE FIGHTING~ of 2030 AD; A Fire Fighting Cyber Watchdog
~~~
They now have a hand grenade for fires, where you just toss it in the fire and it emits a potassium compound that cools the room from 1000 to 300 degrees in just 10 seconds. This is being extended by inventors to smart fire fighting devices. These may be UAV's (small airplanes or helicopters) that carry the compounds to stop the fire, and, as usual with the machines, they could climb up walls or columns and through air vents, over shelves and so on to reach the fire. The first cause of death of firefighters is the toxicology of the fire, the second cause is collisions of fire trucks with other vehicles on the way to save lives so the occupation of firefighting is actually about as dangerous as agriculture (second only to logging). Volunteer or more urban firefighters could rest more at ease if the machines did most of the job. In the more distant future innovators see the possibility of larger high speed aerial UAVs that would stand in for the fire trucks and perhaps arrive at the scene if powered by booster rockets in seconds or minutes not hours as sometimes is so now. When these machines arrived they would automatically turn on the hoses and hydrants, and even saw through doors and windows by cutting the glass and then imploding it not breaking it so the smaller machines could save lives more safely.
~~
The UAV's may eventually be larger and with high speed computerized reflexes to even carry water to forest fires much faster, safer, cheaper, and more efficiently than people could, with scanners to rapidly find the fire and save water more efficiently by finding where water or other compounds would do the most good. These machines may be most of worth in contrast to human fire fighters in high winds with high speed computer actuation of the airflow around the UAV, as well as used to more safely open windows and allow a more viable platform for the people in the hi rise to reach safe haven. (Props on the outside of the machine could create enough force to press against the wall to hold the machine steady so it would be just a step down to safety inside the machine from the window or other high place, and this could just be scaled up for rescuing larger numbers of people from even the side of the building like a high rise, and so on.) Another option may be the same actuation but with live persons on the ship, rather like how surgeons use computer actuation to make more precise cuts than they could if they've been drinking Bromo Seltzer again!
*****
For a personal super fire defender, one would be good, but four would be four times as good, alerting the people asleep or awake to be savvy ahead of time, stopping the fire fast before they start going into the fire to stop it where others can't go and perhaps blasting out a path where the people indoors can walk through to safety, sort of like Moses and the Blue Sea of waves, but with a path of more salvation than the heat.
Earth Spin Motor 365 and 1/4/24/7/4/30...A Space Elevator That's Economically Viable/Visas By The Lift
~~~
As I say on this site (search at top left of site) electric bubbles/loops may make a good way to find power in orbit by a giant windmill powered by the heat of the sun to generate electricity, and wind electricity via a machine to send and recieve the loops near the Earth may be of worth to make beautious mostly unobtrusive giant wind machines near the land or ocean, for a giant sigh of relief for many about a beach ecology they've hoped to see. Another idea is to lasso the moon as in old silver westerns with a wire in orbit from the earth's poles to loop around magnets on the moon and collect the spin, a giant electric motor and if only with narrow loops of wire 500,000 miles around. Even so it may be easier to have the moon ploughing through the loops of field instead of the wires for converting part of the earth/moon's rotation to power that may be built here in the 2010s or so. To save power the loops may be focused in on the sides and so on. The loop may be concentrated in a magnetic beam like a laser or by attraction around the moon using the loop of the field and attracted around the moon by the moon magnets there to save more of the field. Like the solar powered windmill, part of the power of the solar field or the moon's magnets ploughing through the loops may be used to bend the field or the beam may be self focusing for more advantage, making it more viable perhaps for the machines like the moon motor to win much more power beyond that point. (E.g. "An increase of 1% in the field past balance would yield us a billion more volts.")
...
Another cheaper option is to move asteroids cheap by a simple nudge with a beam from the earth or closer up on a machine boosted higher. The same wires or beams to magnets or vice versa with these asteroids in orbit would be used to collect the power of the spin of these masses by boosting lightweight magnets into the sides of each in another giant electric motor. This would be cheaper than wiring up the moon because of much closer distance. Another option as others say is tethers from the asteroids spin outward to collect power from the earth's spin and magnetic field as the higher speed tethers plough through it. The small wires to the asteroid would be the cobwebs to wires of space elevator towers, starting with small robot elevators that would add or spray on more and more layers of strengthening metal with each trip while also paying for themselves with payloads to orbit, a sort of cosmic weigh in station. When the wires are strong enough to support the elevator with people we could reach Low Earth Orbit cheap and safe and colonizing the solar system would be much easier. By use of the pay by labor to reach orbit method, the major problem of the tower, money, would be solved, with a tether to lift payloads by using the spin of the asteroid for the lift if the asteroid were much nearer in than the more distant reach of an orbiting elevator held in orbit by its own centrifugal force, a lighter wire would be used, so much cheaper and easy to build than the older (20th-21st Century, Yawn!) elevator in orbit. More mass multiplies up the equation of centrifugal force so the much larger mass of the asteroid could be with the cheaper wire to a lower geostationary orbit.
****
The asteroid would make a good space station and source of materials. To stop terrorists it would have a net of strong mesh around it so if a bomb hit it would be like a bag of loose sand, but none of the rocks would go outward, so the whole machine would stay intact and spinning. And unlike a more expensive orbiting tower, if it went down because of the much cheaper cost of moving the asteroid and using cheap tethers for the lift of payloads instead of the elevator, it could be back online in weeks or months instead of taking 25 years to rebuild the elevator (in the older plans e.g. of Tsiolokovsky) at huge cost.
..
Two or three asteroids in Low Earth orbit would be a boom for many cities in the tropics, with more hours a day in the shade and it would be great for orbiting Pizza Shack business, the great pizza in the sky.

Air Guitar Hero

While this site about outfits mentions using radiation like light to clean them in 20 hours using special fibers, others think an electric boost by plugging in a moderately higher power current to all the fibers may clean them at higher speed than a day and it might also be a good way to a smoother look. A shirt that is pumped by air inside with no leaks has been used to iron the shirt in just seconds, not minutes like by usual irons.

Another innovation of the same site is using sensors around the wearer's elbows and hands to make air guitar sound real, with real as if in concert sound output, sort of like boxing via imagination except with music (cyber boxing where you imagine your action has been found to have real value to improve reflexes.).

There are now hand power machines that can be worn for soundsmiths to learn how to move well when they play the instrument, so they always learn well, an easy way to be a concert whiz. Your chances are 1 in 40,000 without them, so this may be more like a celebration than even labor day of mom all month!

Wave Powered Ships Surf's Up....

Wave powered boats! They've climbed all around the world and swam the 7 seas with machines like this that use no power other than the waves (although the boat was in a wave of splurge vendors for the ship of the 21st century!). There are also airplanes that wrap the shock wave around the ship to ride on the wave the airship produces to improve efficiency. Now wave powered ships and boats are being devised that likewise use fins on the outside of the twin hull fuselage of the ship to bend the otherwise outward flowing wave around nearer the ship and collecting more of the forward power of the ship with the fins. Meanwhile inside the two hulls, the wave the boat makes already is captured with fins so the boat rides foreward via more of the wave's energy. (A great surfer is a surfer who always finds a wave even when the waves are calm, well with this ship ya know.) It seems like wave radiation is like heating the outdoors with a flame compared to the wave for power, which is more like heating the indoors with sealed heat and vents. Light in wires like optic lines move foreward by adjusting the wavelength to fit the speed so the forces are minimized, and the wave with the same power ship goes farther.

Laser Surgery Via Antibiodies To Find and Remove Harmful Cells

"It's all gone." One of the myths of cancer treatment, is when they say this to the patient, In truth there's been no way to know if it's completely gone with microscopic tumors often still present. This is a problem with blood transfusion, it's basically a form of tissue transplant often with small cancer cells or viruses the donor's immune system may have stopped while the patient's own immune system is unable to defend because of the recipient's immune system being not well adapted to foreign tissue. A recent advance in health science is the laser knife, it uses 297 or more lasers without cutting the skin or the use of anasthesia to burn away the cancer even to the microscopic level in the body. Like a concert light show the lasers don't light up till when they meet and the light is seen "in concert" so they don't heat up much till they reach the target cells, so no incision or anesthesia is needed even through bone for brain surgery, and the typical inpatient stay is hours not months. This may be of worth to solve the problem of the microscopic cells by identifying even the individual cells by binding them with antibodies and sensing just these cells with illumination and then using the laser knife to not only stop the larger tumors but even to cure the patient by also stopping the other cells, even if while they move around in real time in the circulation. This use of the laser knife may not only be more efficient, it also may be much safer than conventional chemotherapy using far less radiation, and of worth in tissue transplants and
other uses for health. To kill say a germ the entire germ wouldn't be burnt out even if with sharp definition. Rather just the DNA or holes would be zapped in the cell wall of the otherwise harmful cells, these is are well known ways to stop most germs and use less radiation yet and also there may be fewer toxic compounds left than by use of the gamma knife without more efficient illumination of this type.
